Ok its time for an all out confession. I hate working out.
I know I am a wellness coach/nutritionist, but that doesn’t change the fact that I really don’t like exercise. Actually I hate exercise.Treadmill, elliptical, Zumba, BBL all encompassing any form of exercise. What’s a girl to do? Even yoga was hard for me to get into.
Shocked? You are not the first one to be.People just assume that I love to work out. They assume wrong.
I grew up as an athlete. I love sports, surfing, kite surfing, swimming, rock climbing, and yes yoga. But exercise uh-uh no way Jose.I think it just seems, I don’t know, pointless. I know it is far from pointless; the benefits for your body, mind and soul are immeasurable, yet…the motivation to go and walk around in circles with even my best of friends on a regular basis is just, intolerable.
So how the hell can someone like me stay in shape? Well, find something you love and do it!
Everyone is at risk of toxic stress in today’s world – our bodies naturally create toxins internally as a byproduct of metabolism. Add to this - stress, contaminants in our food and water, poor exercise habits and exposure to pollutants and our hardworking organ of detoxification, the liver, has to work harder than ever. Just like you regularly change the oil in your car, your body really needs to be cleansed; to rest from our daily diets; to eliminate accumulated toxins and rebalance biochemical...
I am here to give a shout out to coffee...hey ho coffee.
Coffee is recognized for jitters, being a lifeline and irritating erratic heart arrhythmias!
But what you didn’t know and in this order are MY favorite 5 healthy things about coffee:
1. Coffee berry essential oil: Coffee essential oil is considered to be an excellent antioxidant. It is also used to fight depression, respiratory issues, stings, and fever and can be beneficial against general nausea. I love when I get really good grade coffee beans (like geisha) and they have the oil still on the roasted bean mmm that is so good for my skin, my joins, my mind go coffee go!
2. Drinking black coffee (decaf included), up to 5 cups a day can decrease your chances of diabetes by 50%! Yes you heard me a Harvard study suggest 5 cups of coffee a day (way too much for me that is 20 cups of water to stay hydrated!) can decrease your chance s of developing type 2 diabetes by 50! Kudos Coffee!
3. You taste so good in my coconut coffee mouss...
Wait!! Stop! Keep the chocolate! Yes that is my online nutrition/life coach advice! Scales are good for one thing only! Weighing your baggage at home prior to airport arrival so you may avoid overweight baggage charges! So go ahead and throw it out! Scales, not the reptile kind, have embarked on a power hold over us in recent decades. We actually allow a small or medium box determine our mental state. Get on the scale, lost 2lbs! Overjoyed, happy, feeling confident and beautiful. Weight stayed the same, frustration, complacency, and moodiness. Did you gain a little, well well, total failure, fat, ugly, unsuccessful.Insurance companies tell us whether our BMI is acceptable. This meaning a body builder of small stature and minimal body fat wont qualify because they have a higher BMI than the same sized person with 51% body fat. Say whaaaa? (True story)Why in the world have given so much power to such a stupid little box original designed to barter goods like fresh veggies and free range...
