My 5 Favorite Things about Coffee
I am here to give a shout out to coffee...hey ho coffee. Coffee is recognized for jitters, being a lifeline and irritating erratic heart arrhythmias! But what you didn’t know and in this order are MY favorite 5 healthy things about coffee: 1. Coffee berry essential oil: Coffee essential oil is considered to be an excellent antioxidant. It is also used to fight depression, respiratory issues, stings, and fever and can be beneficial against general nausea. I love when I get really good grade coffee beans (like geisha) and they have the oil still on the roasted bean mmm that is so good for my skin, my joins, my mind go coffee go! 2. Drinking black coffee (decaf included), up to 5 cups a day can decrease your chances of diabetes by 50%! Yes you heard me a Harvard study suggest 5 cups of coffee a day (way too much for me that is 20 cups of water to stay hydrated!) can decrease your chance s of developing type 2 diabetes by 50! Kudos Coffee! 3. You taste so good in my coconut coffee mousse! 1 tin of coconut milk (refrigerate overnight) 1/2cup cold strong black coffee 1/4tsp cinnamon 1Tbs ground unbrewed coffee
Open the can of coconut milk (DO NOT SHAKE THE CAN) and carefully skim the solidified coconut fat (oil) from the juice. Place this is a food processor or bowl with hand blender. Add the cinnamon and turn on the food processor/hand blender, slowly pour in the cold coffee a little at a time until you see it making a mousse like consistency. (You may have extra coffee) Pour into your desired cups or dishes, place plastic wrap over them, being careful not to touch the mousse and refrigerate for 20 minutes, sprinkle coffee grounds over the top and voila! Coffee noms! 4. Scrub a dub dub Coffee is known to possess dehydrating qualities, which when used on the skin can reduce the appearance of cellulite! Save your brewed grounds and next time you bath...scrub them gently over your body. You will come out invigorated and smelling like you are ready to start your day! Good morning Coffee
5. Vegan Cappuccino!
I don’t drink coffee every day. I do like it, but every once in awhile I miss the teenage days of caramel macchiato. So I have discovered a great way to cheat on my soy chai tea lattes!! This recipe is great for combatting inflammation, hangovers and overall boredom of the regular day to day doldrums ;) 1 cup steaming hot black coffee 1tsp organic cold pressed coconut oil
1tsp ground cinnamon Blend all together until frothy and add stevia, xylitol or agave to sweeten! Cafe, cafe cafe cafe oh cafe oh cafe!
